Old Faithful Inn

Location: Yellowstone National Park

The multi-phase project involves the complete renovation of the historic Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park for its 100th anniversary. The major goal of this project is to integrate modern systems into the historic building while preserving and restoring the historic nature of the Inn. The mechanical and electrical design for this project feature major upgrades or complete replacement of existing systems. The designs are focused on providing comfortable environments, while maintaining exceptional life safety. The backdrop of this work is maintaining the historic aesthetics of the most significant building in the world’s first National Park. The historic designs feature new hot water cast iron radiators and refurnished lighting fixtures throughout. Life safety is being greatly improved with new fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems, as well as, improved egress lighting. New lighting and electrical distribution will replace antiquated systems and new mechanical ventilation systems are being designed to provide improved ventilation and temperature control in the large commercial kitchen. Associated Construction Engineering’s responsibilities includes the design, of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for this building, as well as, the upfront programming that is necessary to integrate with the architectural work.
