Project Detail

St. Patrick Hospital Cath/Cardiac Observation Unit
Healthcare

Location: Missoula, MT

As one of the top 50 cardiovascular hospitals in the U.S. as selected by Truven Health Analytics, St. Patrick Hospital continues to expand its care facilities for its patients seeking the best care available in the region for the organ at the “heart” of things. This project involved converting 1,400 square feet of administrative space on the hospital’s third floor into recovery space for the Cath/Cardiac Observation Unit.

The space now features several recovery rooms with three solid walls and a sliding glass door, so that doctors, nurses, and hospital staff can easily keep an eye on patients as they recover from various procedures. One of the recovery rooms doubles as a procedure room for TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram), a non-invasive procedure that physicians use to diagnose cardiovascular disease. The space also includes the following areas designed to give patients a comfortable environment in which to recover and to furnish hospital staff with the resources they need to deliver top-rated care:

• Patient toilet room
• Nursing station
• Medication, nourishment, and equipment rooms
• Separate clean utility and soiled utility rooms
